My iPhone won’t connect to CarPlay on the iOS 18.6 update. My wife’s iPhone is still on iOS 18.5 and works fine. Anyone else experienced this? Is there an issue or workaround?

So is this new connection wired or wireless? Has your iPhone basically connected with Bluetooth and it’s only CarPlay that’s not enabled? Refer to your vehicle’s user guide for CarPlay compatibility. I can assure you iOS 18.6 is not the problem as there are almost no reports of this. You might also contact your vehicle dealer to see if they have any information or reports. Since this is a new vehicle there should be little if any problems with CarPlay.
Again, try restarting your iPhone per the link I provided.
A bit more context - this is the initial connection we’re trying to make as it’s a new car. Could that be a factor?
I know it should work as it’s worked fine on my wife’s phone (we both have iPhone 15) only difference is hers is running a slightly older iOS.
Solved it! A problem in the bowels of my iPhone which item 5) on the picture directed me to with a bit of digging.

My Car play worked fine yesterday, today, after an update to ios18.6.2 overnight, CarPlay will not work. Its not a new connection- same car same phone, only change is your software

I don’t have the ability to release a patch, now that’s nonsense. I’ve tried the 11 fixes. Get over yourself it’s a 18.6 glitch that not letting CarPlay work.
