Can’t remove damaged iPad from Apple Account after account recovery

I have recently gone through account recovery and through my iPhone settings removed my iPad from the list as it’s damaged beyond use but it hasn’t reflected on my Apple account so when I’m trying to add my fiancé’s number for account recovery (in case I need to do it in the future) it’s asking me for a passcode I no longer remember and can’t change. How do I go on from here?

Re: I don’t know how to remove my iPad my account : removed my iPad :it hasn’t reflected on my Apple account

It may take time for the account to reflect the changes.

Seems keeping the iOS version up-to-date often side-steps issues: If you don't have automatic updates set, you could check for updates in Settings > General > Software Updates.

About iOS 18 Updates - Apple Support says iOS 18.6 is the latest version

and "This update provides important bug fixes and security updates, ..."

If youchoose to update the iOS, please remember it is wise to back-up your iPhone first of all.

Else: If you already have iOS 18.6 installed:

Wondering if restarting your iPhone may help: (deletes temporary files, re-establishes connections, may update the recent account changes, and often restores order if something is not working as expected.

if needed: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

If needed: You can always check things out and edit/update any of your details in your Apple account online:

Apple Account sign-in webpage: https://account.apple.com/

You can often get a verification code on the iPhone itself, if it is listed as a trusted device.
