Incorrect contact names between father and son on iPhone 16 Pro

I have my son under my plan, both iPhone 16 pros. His profile on his phone shows “Dad”, not his own. We were able to change to his name, but then I show up as his name when I contact him. When in his name it illustrates correctly to everyone else, just not between us…..in this setting I (his Dad) show up as his name. Hope this makes sense to someone? Please help

He should NOT have the same account as you, whether he is 12 or not. Here are a couple links you need to follow:

Until you do what is recommended, you will continue to have issues with phone calls and messages AND your likely very bright 12 year old will eventually figure out how to not only read your text messages on his phone, but listen to your voicemail messages, see your photos, etc.
