Update breaks iCloud syncing

Yesterday's update to version 15.6 has broken iCloud syncing. This happens a lot, way too much. Every time this happens I am expected to log out of iCloud on all devices, reboot them and log back in to iCloud? I am so tired of this, Apple! If there is any way to re-enable syncing without going through time consuming and complicated security procedures please let me know how. Because this isn't worth it every few months.

And who expects this? I've never logged out of iCloud, much less the rest. What are you doing differently from us?

We are not Apple; folks who read these posts are just users like you. Some of us hang around here from time to time in case our experience may help someone. The Apple engineers don’t read the stuff, here.

It would help if you just let us know what you're doing and what the Mac does.

  • Are you talking about iCloud Photos or iCloud Drive?
  • What does your Mac's Photos say at the bottom of the Library? Like this:

  • Do you have “Optimize Storage” checked?
  • Do you have more than 10% free storage on your Mac?
  • Do you have more than 10% free storage on your iCloud account?
