I have an iPad 2018 (6th generation) running versions 17.78 but when i use Google to look things up They show me US sites and not UK sites. Is there a way to fix this.

Do you mean Google Chrome? Or do you mean just the Google search app? Google Keep? Google Drive?
Are you in the U.K?
Chrome and the Google App, will default to your current location for search results.
You may be able to add "in the UK" at the end of your search to make it look for websites in the UK.
Also, as Google is not an Apple product o service you may have better luck asking for help on Google's support forums.

Thank you so much for your very thorough explanation. As you have probably guessed, I am not very techie savvy but tried your suggestion of adding "UK sites only" and this is proving very successful.
It's me again. Have clicked the website you included and have now managed to change the Region setting. Everything is now OK and I am getting Google.co.uk when I use the Google app. Cannot thank you enough.
