Several events have an asterisk behind them in the Calendar app

So does anyone have a clue why the asterisk shows up on these events?"

Sorry that I don't know for sure. Wondering if the asterisk could be caused by a particular app (eg: social media) that has access to your calendar in order to add events for you.

You can decide which apps are allowed to use your calendar information.

1. Choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Privacy & Security  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)

4. If you turn on access for an app, click Options to give the app full access to your calendars, or only allow it to add events to your calendars."

Else: You could try checking whether you notice something in common between those events marked with an asterisk. If so, that is a clue.

(Eg: could those * events all be in the same calendar / category, (ie: just like "Birthdays" can be a separate calendar / category).

Thank you for checking, and for your reply. That's a step in the right direction. At least you found there's some kind of relationship between many of the asterisked entries.

Seems something is the cause, I can't guess what.

Maybe the asterisk has something to do with how these particular events were all created. (eg: could the asterisk denote the event is from a list ? or another calendar ? transferred from somewhere ? family member's google calendar ?)
