how do you stop slideshow from zooming in on every single photo?

Using Apple Mac Book Pro, MacOS 15.5

I made a slide show of 4x3 portrait photos. When I run the slideshow it zooms in on every single photo, cutting off probably 30-40% of the photo. It will also randomly put two photos side by side.

How to stop this please?

Bit odd that Apple, with such a focus on presentation, would do this?

Thanks,

MacBook Pro (2021)

It sounds like you may be using the "quick and easy" (and less useful) File>Play Slideshow rather than the more versatile File>Create>Slideshow, is that right? "Play Slideshow" does just that-- it plays a pre-set quickie.
