Accessibility Display Text Size Setting Does Not Change The Text Size Settings

Settings - Accessibility - Display - Text Size - Custom - The slider at the most above

When I increase the slider these are not affected?

+ ChatGPT App (Both Left And Chat Panels)

+ Apple Notes Left Panel

+ Safari (Both Main Screen and Icons)

So how can I change the size of them?

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 15.6

Hi Mainecoon364,

Re: "Accessibility Display Text Size Setting Does Not Change The Text Size Settings"

As you say, not all text displays larger when you make an increase using the slider.

Eg: Some apps may already have custom text-size settings that may need to be changed.

_________

In Chat GP :

With Chat GP open:

You can click on the View button and choose "Make text bigger"

(Repeat if you want it even bigger)

Alternatively, you can use two keys (keyboard shortcut): Press Command and Plus Sign (+)

Repeat if needed.

Apple support provide an article online that may be helpful.

For MacOS Sequoia: Make text and icons bigger on Mac - Apple Support

Eg: says:

"Make text or icons bigger in an app

In many apps, you can adjust the size of text or icons."

____________

App sidebars:

"Choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Appearance  in the sidebar (you may need to scroll down).

Click the Sidebar icon size pop-up menu, then choose a size."

_____

Safari

"Go to a web page in the Safari app , then do one of the following:

  • Adjust the size of everything on the page:Press Command-Option-Plus Sign (+) or Command-Option-Minus Sign (–).
  • Adjust the size of only the text: Press Command-Plus Sign (+) or Command-Minus Sign (–)."

If needed: There are many more tips in the linked article above.

If you haven't already:

You may also want to experiment with the Zoom settings:

System Settings > Accessibility > Zoom

Eg: If turned on:

"Hover Text" allows you to press the command key to see larger text under the pointer
