Staingate on Macbook Pro 2021

My Macbook Pro 2021 is affected by what has been called the "staingate".

The anti-reflective coating is failing and peeling off.

Of course out of warranty and out of Apple Care+, we're in 2025.

Apple customer care support seems to consider that's "too bad" and "tough luck". They will basically not do anything about it.

I don't think I should be paying to replace a screen that is defective and for a defect Apple hasn't been able to fix since 2015 and that I'm encountering on 2 Macbook Pro already (2018 & 2021).

Apple, please contact me back and offer a solution.

You have to let Apple know yourself, they are not reading your post here and you cannot rely on what other users have done or what Apple Support told them. They have also done voluntary recalls for many issues over the years and that only comes from feedback by multiple users. As you are aware, they did offer free screen replacements for earlier MacBook Pros that affected a wide range of users with that issue. What they have done in the meantime as a preventative measure is unknown by me. Screens will scratch where the coating will come off, and how many users it affects now to what it did with the earlier free replacements is also unknown.

You can also file a complaint with the BBB if you wish:

I have 2 Macbook Pros in my family (2019 & 2021) that do not experience that problem, so not sure how systemic it is. Obviously some have seen it, but certainly not all.

Thanks for your reply.
Not all but systemic enough that Apple had to offer out of warranty Macbook Pro a screen replacement.
And it keeps happening, it's not just me...

It's a pity that brand making a 100 billion in profits can't on its own decide to take care if its customer properly.
