iPad cellular reception issues with stucco and plaster walls

The exterior of my home is stucco which uses a steel mesh to keep it in place. My interior walls are plaster which also use a steel mesh.

This is my third iPad and all have had trouble getting a strong cellular signal from inside my house.

Is there anything I can do to get a better signal/reception?

In simple terms, your house construction makes it a “Faraday Cage,” a structure that blocks radio signals. There is really nothing you can do about it to improve cellular signal reception. What you can do is use Wi-Fi when in your house, or contact your carrier for a cellular repeater that connects over Wi-Fi to their network.

You have asked us to guess your iPad model. Knowing this would tell us what type of cellular service your iPad can use (e.g., 5G?).

Use the highest fidelity service that works as described in “Choose cellular data options for data usage, performance, battery life, and more“ here.
