Apple Watch Series 9 missing pool lengths during backstroke

Noticed an issue with my series 9 today that it’s missed at least 6 pool lengths for me which is incredibly annoying, is there anyway to correct it ? I do breaststroke on the way out and back stroke on the return and it’s the backstroke it doesn’t like
