Syncing photos from icloud to new Ipad

I bought an ipad 10th generation wifi so I could look at my photos in a larger size for reference to paint. I am trying to synce my 1000 photos from icloud to my ipad but it is taking days (so far 3) My download speed is 70Mb/s. How do I speed this operation up?

I have my ipad plugged in with full battery.

In the photo app it says Syncing with I cloud. Surely it should not take this long.

HELP please

iPad, iPadOS 17

I agree, it shouldn't take that long. You said it says it's syncing-- how many does it say it has synced? Some things will take a long time, like scanning for names and faces.

You're on iPadOS 17, so I can't duplicate this. But I think that what I would do, if its way far from complete, is a forced re-start and try again.

Force Re-start iPad

This is different from a simple Power Off. For me, the logo appears way after the Power Off notice.

And, by the way, an iPad is a perfect way to share pictures! They look great! I usually forget to turn the brightness all the way up, though, since text can be too bright…
