When opening emails with images on my iPhone 16, the images don’t appear. I open my Mail settings, and “Load remote images” is turned off. So I turn it back on, but it turns itself back off. How do I fix this?

Do you have any VPN’s or security software on your iPhone? Some can override the settings such as Nord VPN’s Threat Protector. If so, don’t just turn it off, fully delete it off your iPhone.
Any of these gives control of many security functions to the administrator of your iPhone.
One reason you might want to restrict loading remote images: When an image loads it provides information to the site that hosts the image about your usage using “tracking pixels” embedded in the image.

Deleting the email account and adding it back will fix issues related to the log in/server information. It won't fix something like this.

Be sure to fully uninstall it and see if that allows you to work. They are notoriously known for causing issues.

The issue has improved - there is an occasional delay loading some images, but overall, it's better. Go figure...
