Music quits when I connect to it from iTunes Remote on my iPhone

I'm running Music 1.5.5.34 on my M1 Pro laptop running Sequoia 15.5, and iPhone 14 Pro with iOS 18.5.


I can run Music on my laptop with no problems. When I select my Library in iTunes Remote, Music on my Mac immediately quits with no messages or other complaints. No Apple helper pops up and asks if I want to send a crash report to Apple, so I assume that it is not crashing Music.


I tried running Music in safe mode, and got the same behavior.


Since I can't reinstall Music, what are my remedies to restore functionality? What I expect is what I have had for years: the ability to control music playing on my Mac from my iPhone.
