Apple TV no longer displays through HDMI

I have an older Apple TV 4K A1842. It's been working faithfully on my older Samsung HD TV for years. I am not displaying 4K. I used the Apple TV a few days ago with no issue, went away for the weekend, came home today and the device is not sending a signal out the HDMI. When I woke it form it's sleep, it properly turned on the TV (CEC), but the input on the TV says there's no signal detected. I tested the input on the TV with another device and that displayed properly. I replaced the HDMI cable, but that did not solve the problem. I took the Apple TV to another TV in the house and connected it through HDMI, but again the TV did not see the Apple device. I can't imagine an HDMI output on an Apple TV suddenly failing. Was there an update over the weekend that created an issue? Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I may address this? Thanks for any help.

Imagine it. Electronics can and do fail for no apparent reason and suddenly too. Since you tried a different cable and different TVs with the same results it definitely points to a possible hardware failure. I would have suggested powering the Apple TV down but you did that when you moved to a different room.

You are always able to schedule an appointment with an Apple Store or authorized Apple service provider to examine and diagnose the problem. If the device has indeed failed you will likely have little to no repair options as the cost of repair would be close the price of a new device. Fact of life these days.
