Unable to update Apple Watch Series 3 due to internet connection issue

Hi. I just purchased an Apple Watch Series 3. Charged it up and tried to pair it. It dates that there’s an update for the watch and my iPhone 11 goes a looks for it. My phone then states that it’s unable to continue as I’m not connected to the internet. But I am. Ive tried resetting the watch. Turning my wifi on and off. Turning my network on and off. Forgetting the watch on my iPhone. Any ideas please
