Why can’t iPhone allow iMessage and SMS to coexist when in group situations? Not allowing that could cause dangerous situations in emergencies when a team is coordinating in life saving efforts.

How is an iPhone recipient receiving an SMS/MMS (vice an iMessage) creating a “Dangerous Situation” ?
If I’m in a group, about to experience a tornado (a real situation) and suddenly my warning message to someone in my group doesn’t go through, what do you call that?
But they everyone IS included in the MMS group. (i.e. both iMessage and SMS subscribers)
Which is why I’m still not understanding your point.
