iMovie won't play on Quick Time Player or transfer to YouTube after saving on macOS Sequoia 15.5

I have been exporting from iMovie by clicking on Projects, then Share Project, Social Platforms, choosing a resolution, and finally the folder destination. It's worked that way forever and ends up in the right folder with a .mov suffix.

I've just gone through the above steps and tried to play the video and got this message: The document Day 1961 Final - 1080WebShareName.mov” could not be opened. The file isn't compatible with Quick Time Player.

iMac 27″, macOS 12.7

Hi Matti

Thank you for getting back to me on this.

I followed some guides about what I should do, which I did and got it working again. But it still keeps happening so I 'Force Quit' iMovie (as it won't close on its own), restart the Mac, and that seems to do it.

I can't explain that but it seems to work, so it'll do me until something else goes wrong.

What do MediaInfo or Invisor say about the .mov video and audio codecs and other specs?

p.s. I have used only the "old" iMovie v1-6 so I'm not familiar with the current version.
