Safari tabs will not reload previous page, need to reopen in a new tab

Hello all,

I have 8 different tabs open in my Safari (18.5) window. Most of the tabs are news and sports webpage sites. When I decide to visit a different site I just click on the tab of the different site. 90 percent of the time Safari will have the page available that I was viewing before and I'll just reload the page by using the circle/arrow in the search bar. Sometimes when I click a different tab it will open but will be a plain white page. Even if I click the reload circle/arrow nothing happens. Its necessary for me open up my folder and use the command key to open an entirely new page.. What could be causing this issue? Thanks
