Apple Watch Ultra 2 Black Titanium Bezel Paint Fading After 2 Months. Warranty Denied
Hi Apple Community,
I’d like to share my experience and hopefully get some insights or help from others who might be in a similar situation.
I bought my Apple Watch Ultra 2 (Black Titanium) about 2 months ago, and I’ve used it very lightly (not even on a daily basis). Recently, I noticed that the paint on the bottom right bezel has started to fade, revealing a more silver tone underneath. I was really surprised, especially since I haven’t bumped or scratched it, and I’ve taken great care of it.
I took the watch to an Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) here in Indonesia to have it checked, but my warranty claim was rejected, being classified as "cosmetic damage." I also called Apple Support directly and got the same answer, they said it’s not covered under warranty.
I totally understand that cosmetic damage is generally not covered, but this feels more like a manufacturing or coating defect, not normal wear and tear. The watch still looks brand new overall, aside from this unusual spot.
I genuinely love this product! especially the Black Titanium version. I had been waiting for it since it was announced, and it was a big moment for me when I finally bought it. But this issue honestly left me disappointed.
Has anyone else experienced similar bezel discoloration or fading on their Ultra 2?
And is there any other route I could take to get this reviewed again by Apple?
Thanks so much for reading. I’d really appreciate any advice or thoughts from the community.
Sonny
