Battery Health Dropping Rapidly on MacBook Pro (Less Than 1 Year Old)

Hi everyone,

I’m facing a concerning issue with the battery health on my MacBook Pro and wanted to ask if anyone has experienced something similar or has any insights.

My battery health has been degrading unusually fast. It dropped from 96% to 92% in less than a week, and I’ve noticed a pattern where it drops 1% almost daily, even with moderate usage and proper charging habits. Once the battery drops below 10%, it drains extremely quickly the percentage decreases almost second by second. For the last two months i used my mac to watch Youtube/Netflix.

  • Maximum Capacity: 92%
  • Cycle Count: 302
  • Condition: Normal

It is still under warranty should i get it checked?

300 cycles in less than a year is nearly one cycle per day. My work Mac (16” M1 Pro) is over 3 years old with 182 cycles and 94% health. My personal Mac (16” M4 Pro) is 8 months old with 11 cycles and 103% health.

In your case, your battery is doing well for the use pattern. Best advice to keep battery health high is to run on AC power as often as you can, and run on battery when plugging in isn’t convenient.

Regarding contacting Apple, they consider 80% health or better to be ‘healthy’ so they will not take action.

Battery Health Dropping:

The cycle count is way up there, but, unfortunately, there is not way to determine how, nor whey the Battery Health Decreased. According to your device, you are using Beta Software here: macOS 26.0. Expect issues when using it. So, make a post in the Apple Developer Forums. It may be a glitch in the GUI.
