Thank you for your reply. Firstly, a painstaking translation below of your reply for anyone else following your discussion thread, and perhaps someone with more expertise than either you or me will have insights, tips or clues toward a solution!

"I routinely use a cannister of compressed air to blow off the keyboard and a damp rag to wipe it.
:The iMac is a 2024,24"M4. I have been using it since March. It hasn't always done this, but is to the point of doing it all the time.
I am trying to ferret out different program since it does not do it on everything.
today I was unable to type normally using my sbc global address through AT&T Yahoo, but could use it when comting through the Apple email system. I had problems a day or so ago typing on Amazon and on Word.
I almost always get a bold box (blue, normally) that I can occassionally get rid or,but not always. I occasionally get a note that indicates " Textbox" delete with Tab. " Sometimes it works, today I could not do anything to get rid of it.
There are actually a nunber of strange things that happen like the screen goes skittering off to the right on its own. I can sometimes recover it with the mouse, but sometimes it is lost.
The mouse arrow cannot be situated directly over some thing you want to designate. The point of the arrow has to be just below the item or it will not designate it. I had one instance where spellcheck pulled up a word as misspelled when it was correct. It is like it is possessed.
Fortunately, I still have my 2015 iMac that generally works OK with some exceptions. Actually, I have a 2008 iMac that is probably working better than the new one...though it is slow.
Thanks for the help. As I look at the screen there is a bold blue box in left, center of the screen just sitting there and nothigh lighting anything inside the box. I can't find anything that will get it off the screen. It's way to hard to go back and proof what I have typed. Thanks again."

Would like to know which MacOS version is installed on your 2024, 24" M4 iMac.
Wondering, with all these behaviours going on, whether you have any unnecessary third-party (non-Apple) apps like ad-blockers, virus-checkers, cleaners, or the like, (even VPN can cause issues) installed. If so, try turning them off, or better yet, use uninstallers from their developers so they do not leave odd files strewn about.
Any necessary third-party apps should be kept up-to-date with the latest versions, so they remain compatible with your Mac OS.
Then watch to see whether there is any improvement, as one or more apps may have been causing interference, (which may (or may not) continue even so).
