Has Apple addressed this problem yet? My iphone did an auto update and dead in the water now with Carplay and Siri. I've done all of the recommended troubleshooting tips and still not working. Very irresponsible on Apple's part to auto update people's iphones with something that endangers them by taking away the ability to communicate without taking your eyes off of the road.

It's an 11 promax running 18.2
Worked great with my Sony car receiver until it automatically updated IOS to 18.2
Now I say hey siri and she responds but can't hear anything I say after that.
I can't make phone calls because no one can hear me when I'm using Carplay ... it's like my iphone is on mute.
So no more phone calls, messaging, or asking for directions or getting information on hours for establishments or anything. Carplay is basically useless now.
I'm on a wired connection so thought it was cable ... bought a new cable and same problem.
I did do all of the troubleshooting ... updated firmware on my Sony, restarted both, reset both, check every single setting on both pieces of equipment ... it's junk now.

Also, your iPhone 11 Pro Max is several years old and the long process of applying an iOS update to an iPhone with a weak, aging battery can be the proverbial "straw that broke the camel's back." So...
Does your iPhone 11 Pro Max still have its original battery?
And what's the Maximum Capacity % here?...

I downloaded IOS 18.5 and it didn't fix the problems. People can't hear me on the phone when it's connected to Carplay. If I say hey Siri .. Siri reponds but then I have to pick up the phone and push the side button to communicate further with Siri.
No battery problems with my iPhone 11 ProMax ... so just waiting for Apple to release a fix. Hopefully soon.

If you don't know, you can check if the battery has been replaced by going to Settings > General > About
...Does it say anything there about the battery — such as "Unknown ⚠︎" or other message?

Yes ... it worked perfectly until iPhone updated to IOS 18. I have updated the firmware on the unit and didn't fix anything.
Any updates on IOS 18 and Siri not hearing voice inputs in CarPlay?
