Recent update removed lock feature from Quick Notes — why no prior notice?
Hello,
I recently noticed that the ability to lock Quick Notes has been removed on my iPhone, running iOS 18.5. Until yesterday evening, I could lock individual Quick Notes, including important and confidential information. But since this morning, a message says: “Quick Notes cannot be locked.”
I understand that Apple can introduce updates, but I didn’t receive any notification, email, or alert regarding this specific change — which directly affects how sensitive data can be protected on the device.
My question is:
Was there any official notice given before this update?
And is there a solution for those who used Quick Notes for confidential content?
This is a sincere question, with respect to Apple’s work. I’m just trying to understand the logic behind this change and find a way to protect my information securely.
Thank you.
