ICLOUD Recovery Broken Loop

Has anyone figured out how to get out of the Accoutn Recovery Loop: 4 weeks ago I broke my phone and I had to replace my Iphone with another from ICare. Apparently I have 2 Icloud accounts. 1 which is for my Mac, and 1 which is my Iphone. I forgot the password on the Iphone account which has access to my Iphone back up, Apple cash, and My photo Library.

I have done the account recovery process and I don't recieve the message that it is completed. I than go to Iforgot and re enter all the information. CC, Passcodes, 2 Verifications and it kicks me back into the Recovery Process which than says wait a time period for a text or a call to recover the account. I Do this and never get the text or call. I than go back into the account re enter all the information and it re starts the account recovery. I have done this with tier 1 support, in the store, with Tier 2 and no one has been able to help me. I've dealt with support and no one can fix my problem. I have thousands of downloaded purchased songs, pictures of my wedding and videos of my wedding which are not anywhere else, and I can't get access to my Apple Cash account which has some money on it.

HOW DO I GET HELP! HOW DO I GET BACK INTO MY ACCOUNT!

The Account Recovery process is:

  • Submit request
  • Wait up to 72 hours to receive an email for how long to wait before you will receive a text/call with further instructions.
  • If you do not get the text/call when indicated in the email, then you are advised to:

When the waiting period is over, Apple will send you a text or automated phone call with instructions to regain access to your account. If you don’t receive the text or call, once the period specified in the original email is over, you can still go directly to apple.com/recover. Follow the instructions to regain access to your Apple Account.

Also make sure you do not use your device while waiting for the text/call as that will cancel the request and you will not get the text/call. In the same Support Article noted above, it states:

  • Regardless of how you started the account recovery request, you should turn off all other devices that are currently signed in with your Apple Account until account recovery is complete. If your Apple Account is in use during your request, your account recovery will be cancelled automatically.
  • If you started your account recovery request with iforgot.apple.com through your device’s browser, you should avoid using that device during this period. If possible, turn that device off. Using that device might cancel account recovery.

Apple’s account recovery can take a few days because they want to make sure it’s really you trying to get in and make sure the account in right hands.

It’s all part of their system as per the information you shared in process, so no Apple team can speed it up for you. You’re basically stuck waiting without your phone or email, which totally sucks, but there’s not much else you can do except hope it goes through. Heard that lots of people find this process really annoying.

The Account Recovery process is the last resort if you do not have another Trusted Device, which is one that is currently signed into your account, or do not have access to the Trusted Phone number used on the account. With either of those, the password is reset immediately. To prevent from having to go through Account Recovery, always make sure the Trusted Phone number on your account is accurate and you can even add multiple Trusted Phone numbers. Another way to prevent from having to go through the Account Recovery waiting period is by setting up a Recovery Contact beforehand.

Without using any of those methods, there will be a waiting period. That is simply due to the fact that you have not provided a way to reset the password using the standard methods for two factor authentication.
