I cracked my screen and now it's completely unresponsive. I can tell the phone is on and connected to wifi because i keep hearing notification sounds. I wanted to upgrade my icloud plan to 50gb in hopes of triggering a backup to icloud so I can save my photos. But when I try to upgrade it from the icloud website it tells me to confirm on my phone - which I can't do. How do I upgrade the plan without the phone?
Get your screen fixed by an authorized Apple dealer.
That could result in the repair place wiping the phone (or replacing it with a refurbished phone) before there was a chance to save any of the photos. I believe that Apple's advice is to back up your phone before you bring it in for repair, because of the possibility that repair will result in losing your data.
If the phone is already set to automatically back up photos, through
- iCloud Photos, or
- Automatic iCloud backups that include photos
then maybe upgrading the iCloud+ storage plan, and leaving the phone connected to power and to Wi-Fi Internet service for a few nights, might save the photos. (Provided that the phone is not too badly damaged.)
If the OP wasn't synchronizing or automatically backing up photos, or the phone is too badly damaged to carry out previously-selected synchronization/backup, the OP may learn a hard lesson.
Backups must be made before catastrophe happens. Afterwards is generally too late.
