App stuck in “Waiting for Review” for 13 days – no update from Support

I’m posting here in hopes of getting some help or advice regarding our app submission, which has now been stuck in “Waiting for Review” status for 13 days.


We submitted our iOS app on Jul 2, 2025, and since then there has been no movement in the review process. This app is important for our business. The delay is now starting to affect our plans significantly.


We called Developer Support, hoping to get some clarity or assistance. Unfortunately, the responses we received were generic and didn’t provide any concrete solutions or timelines. We understand the review process can take time, but 13 days with no progress or transparency feels excessive—especially considering the app was submitted under a developer account that has had previous successful submissions without issue.


Here’s a quick summary:


• Initial submission: Jul 2, 2025

• Current status: “Waiting for Review”


If anyone from the App Review team happens to see this, or if any fellow developers have dealt with a similar issue recently and have advice, we would greatly appreciate your insights. This delay is putting real pressure on our timeline, and we’re doing everything we can to resolve it.

I have 8 apps in the App Store and the review time on initial release ranged from 1 week to 2 weeks. Updates to apps after approved are usually processed within days. I have seen where the review time is much less now, although I cannot confirm as my apps were approved 3-5 years ago.


Check for any messages on App Store Connect and note the information provided by Apple here:

On average, 90% of submissions are reviewed in less than 24 hours. You’ll be notified by email of status changes. You can also check the review status of your submission in the My Apps section of App Store Connect or on the App Store Connect app for iPhone and iPad. If your submission is incomplete, review times may be delayed or your submission may not pass.

No one here will be able to escalate or speed up the review process. Developer Support is your best resource for contact, although like you have seen you will not usually get a concrete approval date or be able to tell them to expedite the process.

Thanks for sharing your experience — I completely understand where you’re coming from. I currently have 5 apps on the App Store and am quite familiar with the review process myself. I’ve also followed Apple’s advice and contacted Apple Support by phone, but unfortunately, the responses were mostly scripted and not helpful in providing any real insight or assistance.


While Apple states that 90% of reviews are completed within 24 hours, in practice, delays still happen, and the lack of transparency can be frustrating — especially when there’s no clear way to escalate or get meaningful updates. Hopefully, Apple will improve communication and provide developers with a more predictable and transparent review process in the future.
