Transferred everything from SE Iphone 8 to new IPhone 12. All downloaded OK but songs greyed out and none will play. This is MY music, from CD's I own and paid for. Why won't hey play? What can I do to resolve please?

Thank you. The problem is I am unable to sync on iTunes. Spent 45 mins on the phone with 'an adviser' yesterday and ended up being told to close the laptop down (which I had done) uninstall Itunes (which I had done) and reinstall Itunes - which I did - with the same result. Unable to sync so unable to fix music to play.
Any helpful suggestions very welcome.

Are you using Windows 10 or 11? You should download and install Apple Devices, it is newer software for dealing with Apple products on a Windows device. What happens when you try to sync the music?
Is it possible you are using a Mac. The newer Macs deal with the iPhone via Finder instead of iTunes.
You will need to sync that music from iTunes, Apple Devices, or Finder if on a Mac. That music authorization does not transfer when you transfer to a new phone.
