I have a Macbook pro m4 - sequoia (silicon), and during the last days it stopped recognizing my external speakers connected via 3.5mm jack. After restarting it recognises them, but if I close the lid (eg during the night) the next day they are not there, even in the sound settings -output devices.
Also the "sudo killall coreaudio" does not fix the problem, only restart seems to fix it.
Please help!

A SafeBoot Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support will sort many anomalies
Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.

Having the same issue. 4x in the past two weeks. Apple Support demands running Diagnostics to attempt to identify the issue, which obviously does not turn up anything because it's already been fixed as of the restart to get to said Diagnostics.
Extremely time-wasting to have to restart so frequently for this...
