Calls on MAC - iPhone Not Available - Your iPhone and Mac must be on the same WiFi Network

I can't make an outbound call using my iPhone from my MacBook Air?

But I can answer an inbound call to my iPhone on my MacBook Air!

They are most definitely on the same WiFi network then, right?

What could be the reason for this mismatch?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 15.5

Just the one wifi network in this household
wired didn't fix the problem

There appears to be some confusion.

I didn’t ask about the number of Wi-Fi networks.

How many Wi-Fi routers or Wi-Fi access points total are in use? One?

Or is this mesh?

Also based on your reply, both wired and wireless connections are in use?
