My Apple Music free trial shows the wrong start date on iPhone

On the 11th of July a few minutes past midnight (Italian time, Italian account, while in Italy) I accepted Apple’s offer of 3 months free. When it was confirmed it showed the trial had started on the 10th which is clearly Apple’s error. As if it wasn’t enough, contacting via email was useless, they always prompt users to phone call, not caring that one may be hearing or voice impaired, hence all I can do is shut up because they won’t fix their error via email support, so what are the options for those who can’t talk on the phone? Should I just ask any stranger to contact them on my behalf?

Hi Flanagan_bv

welcome to this Apple (user-to-user) Community!

Re: Wrong Apple Music trial start date

Am thinking there may be a misunderstanding here because of International time zones

You've likely heard of someone taking a plane trip one day, and reaching the destination on the day before ?

There would be quite a time difference between your location in Italy and Apple in USA

Eg: I just searched online and it said Italy time is 6 hours ahead Washington

So if it was just after midnight on July 11 where you were, it would be 6 hours earlier in Washington USA, that is the day before, July 10 still 6 hours to go till midnight

So it seems when the subscription runs out in USA time, you would still have that 6 hours left in Italy

Thank you kindly for your reply; no worries ... time zones easily confuse many of us.

Seems we always need to cancel a free trial at least 24 hours before its expires, if we do not want to continue with it. (This is in order to not be charged automatically for the next, and following subscription periods, until we cancel the subscription.)

All the best :-)
