Safari, FireFox, Brave, and others all work well.

Maybe the site you are visiting with your browser is redirecting at the server level. Post some problem details and context.

Any website is able to redirect to a different website and is a function of the internet, not the browser you are using. You are free to use whatever browser you are most comfortable with. If security/privacy is important to you, then I would recommend Safari. Chrome is known to be a resource hog and will track you, so not one that I would recommend.

There is Malware that can be downloaded that will redirect your web searches, and if that is what you are experiencing, I would recommend using MalwareBytes to remove it, or post the EtreCheck report using the Additional Text option when posting and we will be able to determine if there is a process installed on your computer that is causing a problem.

That’s usually installed junk. Installed adware, or related rubbish.

And the junk works with all but the most obscure browsers. Swapping browsers usually won’t fix adware.

I’d work at getting rid of the junk.

Please download and run (free) EtreCheck, and share the results to the clipboard. Then open a new reply here, and press the Additional Text button that looks like a printed page, and paste and post the hardware and software configuration report here. From that, we can get a little more detail about what is installed and what is running here.
