iCloud drive stuck on sync

My iCloud drive synchronisation seems to be . It has remained at this sync level for several weeks now despite the fact that the drive itself is fully up-to-date and there does not seem to be anything lacking on the drive. This little dialogue seems to be hanging in there with a little clock symbol that shows that there is just a very small amount of synchronisation that is taken place

I don't know why you're not syncing-- mine works pretty normally. I wonder if it's running into a file that it can't handle for some reason. If it's not syncing, you have little to lose by removing half of the contents, sticking that bunch in a folder somewhere safe, and trying again. If that doesn't work, do half of what's left. You may find that one group you removed releases the syncing-- then you look in there for the problem file(s).

Another option is to create a new User, sign in to iCloud, and see if it starts up when you aren't working from a User with lots of baggage.

Do you use a VPN? Have you used any "Cleaning" type software which can mess with workings?
