At first I thought notifications had an issue. Turned them all off. The beeping persisted. So I restarted, and reset the SMC. The beeping persisted. I then shut the iMac down and was amazed when it continued beeping, once every 12-13 seconds.
Anybody ever seen or heard of this?
iMac Pro, macOS 15.5
Disconnect all other USB devices except for a USB keyboard and mouse if you use those.
If the beeping stops, then it is one of those USB devices.
Then reset the SMC again as per > Reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support
Desktop computer:
If you hear beeping while the iMac Pro is unplugged, then it is some other device in the area.

Try to run Apple Diagnostics if it's caused by hardware issue.

I have an iMac Pro. I don't understand how that is possible when shut down.

I heard this with a Mac laptop when I changed the RAM and it wasn't compatible. Have you made any recent hardware changes?

No. It's a 2017 iMac Pro, and it turned out not to be the iMac that was beeping. This is a little embarrassing but I gotta be honest, even tho I feel a little stupid rn.
I have many things that beep to warn me, notify me or when they need attention. Sometimes when I hear a beep, it takes a while to figure out the source. 🤓
