iPhone 13 Pro to iPhone 16 Pro data transfer with some items not synced to iCloud

Hello!

I own an iPhone 13 Pro and just ordered an iPhone 16 Pro, both base storage (128GB). I will have possession of both phones when the 16 Pro arrives but will be wiping the 13 Pro. My current iCloud backup is overfull. I have several somewhat important text conversations and Notes on my iPhone 13 that I don't want to lose. If I do an iPhone to iPhone data transfer where I keep the two phones close to each other to transfer all apps, files, and other data, will all text messages and all notes be included in this transfer even though my iCloud is full and some of these items exist only on my iPhone 13 Pro? I'd rather not pay for a bigger iCloud plan if I don't have to.

Thanks!

Yes everything should transfer over.

Wouldn't hurt to get more icloud storage, so you easily backup/sync your data to icloud.

In the event something drastic happens to your phone you can restore from your backup.

Why take chances? The best thing to do, as razmee209 alluded to, is to upgrade iCloud for a month, do the transfer, see how things are going, and then go back to back to the storage you think you can get away with. It'll cost only a couple of bucks, and it will be worth it.
