How do I turn off Anti-aliasing for pixelated images on FINAL CUT PRO?

Whenever I try adding 8-bit game sprites with the original resolution on Final Cut (for example, a 30x30 character animation), they instantly turn into blurry mess because it tried to smooth the image. It makes sprites almost impossible to add in good quality on FINAL CUT, because the pixels are not properly sharpen. Does anyone know how to fix it?

30x30 is very very small. You are scaling this up a LOT as seen from your screenshots.

What is the size of the project in which you are adding these images? Are you making them "Fit" in the project? If you set the "Spatial Conform" to "None", the image will be as small as the original, but whenever it's scaled up, you won't be able to keep the squares.

There is no way FCP will "guess" that you want that squarish look.

If you want to create a larger version that looks like it is made of large square "pixels", then you will need to previously treat this in a still image program. You basically would like each pixel in that 30x30 grid to be replaced by a square of say 10x10 pixels of the same color. If that is correct, I might do a little Python script to automate the process (in comes a small image, out goes that image "multiplied" in this squarish fashion).

There. The image on the left in the same as the right. The left one on the default app when you click on the image shows it in SHARP pixels, so you can see each one perfectly, and is useful to watch sprites. On Final Cut, the image is smoothed, making the sprite look super blurry and it’s really distracting, cuz I wanted to do stuff with it.

Is there any way to fix it?
