Partitioning Mac mini hard drive for Snow Leopard and latest macOS compatibility

Is it possible to partition the hard drive on a new (as yet not purchased) Mac mini such that it will run both the latest OS and Snow Leopard? I have an accounting programme that will only run on Snow Leopard.

Also how well does the Mac mini travel.....can I take bring it to/fro our apartment overseas and hook up with a monitor, keyboard etc there?

No because new Mac's can not boot or run older macOS versions or old software.

Snow Leopard and Sequoia are a thousand miles apart and your best bet is to look for new software.

Yes that will work.

I do that on an Intel Mac mini 2018 running Sequoia macOS 15.5, and Snow Leopard Server Mac OS X 10.6.3 (the usual Retail version does not work) virtualized via VMware Fusion 13.6.3 (currently free). It runs even old PowerPC apps via the old Rosetta.

But that does not work in new M series Macs, and I would not buy an old Intel Mac just for that feature.

No. There are no Macs that are capable of running both Snow Leopard and Sequoia as their main (host) OS.

A Mac cannot run any version of macOS earlier than the one that Apple originally shipped with its hardware model. No currently-shipping Mac originally came with anything as ancient as Snow Leopard. In addition, Snow Leopard is built for Intel processors and does not have an Apple Silicon version. To any of the current M-series Macs, the code in Snow Leopard would appear to be complete gibberish.

Also note that all currently-shipping Macs come with fast SSDs – not mechanical hard drives. Most current Macs – including the Mac mini – don't even have a place where you could install an internal mechanical hard drive.
