iPhone Wallet App "Double-Click Side Button" Greyed Out

I got my iPhone 16 about a month ago, and I set up and verified all of my cards in the Apple Wallet app. I used to be able to double click the side button to open the wallet app, but now it just sends the phone to sleep. The option is turned on in the settings, but greyed out. I have looked over all of the accessibility settings, forced restarted, and deleted the app and re-added all of my cards, but the issue is still there. I feel stuck, and I'm not sure what to do at this point.
