Exported HEIC photos from the Photos app are dull and lose HDR info

photos app exported photos are too dull, HDR info lost

one solution is using drag and drop from photos app to finder, then HDR info is kept, but only in jpeg format

can Apple fix the problem so that exported heic can also keep HDR info?

Have you tried File>Export>Export Unmodified Originals?


By the way, Drag & Drop exporting is not explicitly supported in Photos, so you never know what you'll get-- there are lots of choices with export, and how it works has changed with OS versions. I drag pictures from Photos only when I don't care much what I get.
