How can I change photo import order in Photos app with iOS 18.5?

The Import album in Photos lists imported photos in date order starting oldest to newest import date.

Is it possible to configure the import date the opposite way i.e. newest import at the top and oldest at the bottom?

Under IOS 18.5 I have to scroll through many thousands of photos to get to the bottom of the Import list to view the latest import.

Previous versions of Photos allowed this and it is such a convenient feature to be able to view the latest imported photos at the top of the page and not the bottom.

I have not upgraded some of my devices from IOS 17.7 for this very reason.

You know, I hadn't seen that. I import to Photos on my Mac, and the most recent imports are at the bottom, but the bottom shows first without scrolling. But the iPhone and the iPad start at the wrong end! I don't know why.

You could instead use Recently Saved, also in Utiilties, which does what you want, and it also has more view options than Imports does.

On the Mac, when I import pictures, Photos goes to Recently Saved instead of showing Imports as it used to. I prefer imports.

As you say, Apple has already provided an alternative with Recently Saved. On my Mac, for instance, I prefer Imports, but it already begins at the recent imports. If you want to make suggestions to to Apple, go here:

Thanks Richard. Recently saved seems the only option as scrolling through all me imports to reach the bottom of the screen is far too time consuming. Perhaps Apple could consider an upgrade with a feature allowing a change in import date order?
