Home Kit crashed my iPad

I accidentally hit the Home Kit app and it froze my iPad. The screen says “Home would like to send you critical alerts” with a “Don’t Allow” or “Allow” option. Clicking on both options does nothing. Now my iPad is in the Lock Screen but can’t unlock due to being unable to enter my passcode. I also tried a reset by pressing Volume Up quickly followed by Volume Down then home button. It didn’t work.

This Apple Home Kit thing has done this before but I could always exit out.
