MacBook Air receiving texts, iPhone 14 Pro Max isn’t.

I’m at my wits end, I’ve tried syncing, signing out, resetting. For around 24 hours I’ve been able to send texts from my phone but receive nothing, they go straight to my Mac. I don’t want to use iMessage, I don’t want them going to my Mac, I just want a basic text service to work on my phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Basic text service is a carrier feature (SMS). iMessage is what is normally used on the iPhone, and is a separate feature that is activated in Settings. If you do not wish to use iMessage, then turn that off in Settings. It sounds like you have Continuity turned on for the Mac and that is why you are receiving messages on the Mac, but you should be receiving on both. Hard to say why you are not without knowing the settings you have for messages. See this for turning off text message forwarding on the Mac. If you are experiencing SMS issues on the iPhone, then you need to contact your carrier.
