iPhone 13 pro running newest iOS. Within the past couple of days, I’ve noticed dozens and dozens of websites that I have never visited showing up in website data (in settings). I’m usually very careful about this stuff, and delete such data almost daily. What could be causing this?I fear I’ve been hacked somehow, and worry about my private info.

Whenever you go to a website there are embedded links on the site to other sites that will show images, ads, content (such as news or weather), tracking information that is saved in a database of your browsing history, plus links that you might actually click on.
You haven’t been hacked, but you are exposed to invasive personal tracking.
For example, if you go to Amazon.com, every page will have links to 3rd party providers that actually supply the inventory that Amazon sells, both on the Home page, and, if you do a search, to every site that meets the terms of your search.
It isn’t only Amazon; it is true for every site that sells merchandise; Target, Walmart, costco…every one of them.
In 1999, at a security conference, Scott McNealy, then co-founder and CEO of Sun Microsystems, said:
You have zero privacy anyway. Get over it.
26 years later, it is clear that he was right.

You certainly do not need to navigate to the website seen in your settings for website data. A single website is made up of many external sources for images, ads, and content that will also show up there.
