Finding a lost Apple Watch underwater using 'Find My' app

Recently, after getting back to the dock, I realized my watch was missing. I looked everywhere—no luck.

Fired up the ‘Find My’ app… and sure enough, it showed the watch under the dock, in the water. DARN.

I rigged a 20 lb weight to a rope to keep me down while I crawled along the bottom. Spent 15 minutes searching—nothing. The sun was moving west, and I was quickly losing light.

Then, just as visibility started to fade, I caught a faint glow (the watch is all black) and grabbed it! Got it!

It had been sitting 6 feet deep for 17 hours and 50 minutes, in 80–85°F water.

Super cool that the ‘Find My’ app still worked underwater. 😎
