My Apple Watch is showing the thermometer icon after swimming and getting water damage

I went swimming (mainly lower half) and put my watch in water lock mode incase of any splashes or anything, per usual. I put it on in a rush and my mom “forgot” to mention that my sister knocked it off the counter and the back got cracked. I didn’t notice until after swimming and it definitely has water damage. Is there any way to fix it without getting a whole new watch? It shows the thermometer icon even after force restarting. Please help 😅😅😅
