Photos auto ‘slide show’: How to turn off?

How do I turn off the auto slide show when I open a Photos album on iPad? Tried previous ideas on forum but didn’t work. Don’t get suggested option when I click on dots at top of screen.

On iPadOS 18 see: Customize the Photos app on iPad - Apple Support (CA)

You have to be viewing n album to see the option to turn of the slideshow.

While viewing an album Tap , then tap View Options.
Turn off the slideshow.

Are you on iPadOS 18.5 now? Look for View Options in the menu that pops up when you click on the double arrow icon at bottom left. The option for Movie Preview is in the inner menu that pops up from View Options.
