Logic Pro not letting me change Input Audio

I have been using Logic Pro on my iMac 2019, Intel i9, 5k. I have an audio interface from Universal Audio UAD apollo x8. It has been working fine until last 2-3 weeks I started getting issues. I have removed Wave Plugins (then re-installed), UAD driver removed and reinstalled, Komplete Instruments reinstalled, Logic Pro removed/reinstalled version 11.2. Mac OS is Sequoia 15.5. Logic did an initial Audio scan (took almost 4 days). Now if I open Logic, it takes very long to load (at system level it shows Not Responding), however, if I leave it for some time it loads.

The issue I am having is, Logic - Audio Output is set as Universal Audio and I can hear properly using my audio interface, however, the Input is set as Internal Microphone. When I am trying to change it to UAD or any other option, the application goes into Not Responding and I have to Force Quit. I am not able to record anything via my Microphones connected using my audio interface. I checked Plugin Managers, the plugins which are validated successfully on those are checked, any plugin which is not validated successfully they are unchecked.

As you can see above, I have pretty much tried everything, but still not being able to solve the issue with the Audio Input and I really need to get some recordings done. I have also removed the audio file which logic creates after audio scan and then rescanned the audio plugins, still no luck. I have ran out of options and really need to sort it out. Any help is greatly appreciated as I don't know what else I could try to make it work.

Thank you.

After doing this, "I would remove all 3rd party plugins from your components folder to see if this is an issue outside of Logic Pro". Not only Logic loads instantly, but I was also able to select the Audio Input. At least with your help I found out that it is Component issue - Big Thank You for This! However, question is, how should I solve it now? How would I know which component is causing this issue? There are slightly over 300 files in the component folder which I moved to another folder.

Is this happening with brand new sessions using NO 3rd party plug-ins?

I would remove all 3rd party plugins from your components folder to see if this is an issue outside of Logic Pro. Simply save them to a folder on your desktop. If you need me to show you how to do this, just let me know, and I am happy to walk you through it.

Logic Pro 11.2 has been kind of tricky so your troubleshooting needs to be

methodical.

also, can you try creating another Mac account on your computer to see if the problem persists?

Best of luck!

Glad this was helpful for you.

Once everything is working smoothly. You are going to have to insert components Alphabetically or by Manufacturer. This is what I did and I was able to locate the problem. I dragged in every plug-in that starts with the letter "A" and then I would up up Logic. If everything went smoothly, I would then quit Logic Pro and drag in the next letter "B". Open up Logic Pro and if Group "B" went well, you can continue on with this experiment until Logic Pro hangs. Once things start getting wonky, you can surmise that this is the group giving you the issue.

This is the only way to see which plug-in is potentially causing the issue. Hope this helps!
