Questions about in-store pickup – Apple Store Fifth Avenue

I’m planning a trip to the United States on July 12th, and I’m interested in purchasing a MacBook Air (Midnight color) and an AirPods Pro 2 through the Apple Store US website, selecting in-store pickup at the following location:
767 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10153
Before completing the purchase, I’d like to clarify a few points:
1 - From which date can I place an order for pickup on July 12th? I’d like to finalize the order as soon as possible, even today if allowed.
2 - During checkout, a phone number is required. However, I don’t currently have a U.S. phone number. I’d like to know if the number is used only for registration purposes, or if it’s necessary to receive any confirmation or messages. I noticed that entering a sequence like “0000000000” allows me to proceed to the next step. Does this confirm that the phone number is not essential for verification or communication?
3 - What documents or information will I need to present when picking up the order? As mentioned, I do not yet have a U.S. phone number, but I will be the one picking up the order in person on the scheduled date.
