How to set up an inexpensive second screen for MacBook Air?

I use MacAirPro. I want a second screen. Please can anyone advise me of the easiest way to achieve this? Do i need an apple screen or just any screen? Can anyone actually tell me what would be an inexpensive option to create this? Not sure about compatibility etc. Thank you all.

I was looking at your monitor and stumbled onto something much bigger and runs completely on battery.

Click ▶︎ 32 Inch Wheeled Portable Monitor with Touch, 1080p IPS HD Display, Built-in Battery/Speakers/Bluetooth Enabled/USB-C HDMI Connection/HD, Smart Swivel with Removable Stand.

There may be others, this is one I would consider. 😁

Thankyou for so many opinions and much advice. It seems to be a lot down to personal opinion here. Personally I will probably go for the portable monitor which has the same screen size as my Mac and is easy to connect and run. Yes it will use my Mac battery or mains power. That could be a pro to the ipad, BuT they need charging too! All of our tech needs charging by electricity, however you feed it. Thanks again for all the thought provoking ideas.

Neither of those characteristics would be positive for me. Something much bigger would be less portable. Having the monitor run off the MBP is vastly more simple (to me) than having to find another spot to plug something it or remember to charge batteries. Not to mention, $800?!? That's more than 10x what I paid for the one I got.

Power outages are not a major issue where I am.
