Help Needed: Excel File on iCloud Corrupted After Accessing from iPhone

Hi Community,

I’ve run into a serious issue with an Excel file stored on my iCloud drive. Here's the situation:

  • My iCloud is synced with my Windows PC, and I usually access this Excel file only from my PC.
  • Today, I needed to open the same file from my iPhone, which worked fine.
  • However, when I later tried to open it again on my PC, the file was badly corrupted and now appears unrecoverable.

I’ve already tried several recovery options without success, including:

  • Using third-party recovery tools
  • Changing the file extension to access the raw .xml data
  • Excel’s built-in repair and recovery features
  • Checking for previous versions via Windows File History
  • Looking for deleted or earlier versions in iCloud

My main question:

Is there any way to retrieve a previous version of the file (e.g., from yesterday evening) via Apple or iCloud Support? If so, how can I request or access that?

Any advice or experience with a similar situation would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.
